Created in 1993, Le Syndicat des énergies renouvelables (SER – French renewable energy trade association) brings together several thousand companies, designers, industrialists, installers, and specialized professional associations representing the different renewable energy fields: biomass, wood (France Biomasse Energie), biofuel, marine energy, wind, geothermal power and heat pumps, hydraulics, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic (SOLER), and solar thermodynamic. The SER is an active participant in setting up a legal and regulatory framework to support the development of renewable energy. Among its 452 members, 214 are active in the wind sector including the major players in both onshore and offshore industry (fixed and floating).
